  Can't say enough about this fried chicken. Many aides to choose from - buttery corn, greens, dressing with a compote of cranberry sauce, yams, etc etc.
  
  Banana pudding - the kind grandma used to make with 'Nilla Wafers.
  
  If you're in West Madison DONT MISS this charming place!!

  Would've been my second visit, today,  but they're closed. I'm hoping it's an emergency things and not closed for good.
  Signage in window says CASH ONLY.
  
  I drove over for smothered pork chops, rice and gravy + greens. Not too often I'm free like this during the day but maybe next time.
  
  1st visit was fried chicken, white 2pc with 2 sides. $8.
  
  Try calling before coming over.
  They were clean. Polite. Respectful and faster than other soulful places just underwhelming macaroni and cheese for me but decent greens and I did return so I'd recommend to others.

  Went here on a Thursday night with a group of four. We were the only people in the place for a solid 20 minutes before a couple came in. There were some to go orders in that time though. The woman at the front counter told us to sit wherever, so we chose a table by the window. Our waitress came out and poured our waters and told us they had everything on the menu, except a few select items, mainly the nacho items. The menu is setup kind of odd as it just lists the specials and then some sandwiches, but it seems like they have the specials at most times as well. She then asked if we needed more time with the menu, which we did, so she left for the kitchen for a little while.
  
  When she came back we ended up ordering a couple of the catfish po-boys and a shrimp po-boy which each come with two sides. I also asked if cornbread could be one of the sides and our waitress said it was included with the po-boy and I would get two additional sides. I was super excited by this as I love cornbread and couldn't wait to try theirs. I also got yams and coleslaw with my order. The two other people who got po-boys ordered the greens, onion rings, and dirty rice, but oddly when the plates came out they didn't have cornbread on theirs. My other friend ordered the Thursday special of fried chicken with collards, mac n' cheese, cornbread, and potato salad. They also had a special on chicken wings and so he ordered three.
  
  After a wait of about 15 minutes the chicken wings came out as a first course. I would say they were the best value out of anything ordered. Also straight out of the fryer as they were nice and hot. About 15 minutes after the wings came out our food was finally ready. I would say this would be my biggest complaint, was that the food took a long time to come out. It was all quite good, and I kind of get the food taking so long as it seems its made to order and there are different batters used on all of the fried items. The wings seemed to be different from the onion rings, which was different from the Thursday special, which seemed different from the shrimp and catfish. The fried items all had a nice crunch when biting into them, which is ideal. The cornbread was pretty buttery, but a little underwhelming in flavor for us. The yams were definitely candied and would have made for a great pie. They were sweeter than I was expecting, but pretty good.
  
  The long time spent at the restaurant was something we weren't prepared for. We also had to go up to the counter/almost back into the kitchen to get someones attention so that we could get a to go box and pay the bill. We really weren't checked on after our food was served, which normally I don't mind, but hunting someone down for the bill seemed a little odd. I have to say it was one of the more unique dining experiences that I've had.
  
  Overall the food is pretty good, but if I order from them again, it would definitely be for pickup, or I would go when I know I am not in a rush.

  I found myself on Junction Road around dinner time.  I checked Yelp for suggestions.  I had a long week and needed some comfort food so when The Anointed One popped up...I picked it instantly!  
  
  I headed there and almost drove by it, Thank you to my maps app on my phone, I did not miss it.  The parking lot was very busy and I had to buzz around once to find a decent spot.  The parking lot does not reflect the inside of the restaurant after 5:30 PM on this Wednesday.
  
  I ordered take out for me and my friend at the front.  Fried Chicken Dinner and Catfish Dinner.  I was told I could sit in the back while waiting as there is a TV there.  That was nice of the staff to suggest that.
  
  The back room is both the dining room and the buffet area.  The space is not fancy but it is comfortable.  As I waiting, I watched the fish tank show on Animal Planet...it was a good distraction.  There was only one couple there eating while I waited.  I hope the lunch hours are busier.
  
  In a decent amount of time, the food was ready, I paid, and I was off to meet my pal.  Everything was wrapped well for travel-no spills and the hot food stayed hot.  Only hot thing that had cooled down was the mash potatoes.
  
  Chicken was extremely hot so I know it was cooked to order.  It had a good crispy coating on it.  We were very happy with the flavor.  Hot sauce was included (for those of you who like it).  Each meal came with three sides.  Three very generous portions of sides.  I wanted to get a range of items to try.  Macaroni salad x2, Mash Potatoes, Spaghetti, Cole Slaw, Onion Rings were what we tried.  Everything was good but a bit sweet.  Not really a problem with the sweetness, I just wanted to mention it to those readers who don't like extra sweet to order the greens or veggies.
  
  The Catfish had one of the best cornmeal crusts on that I have had north of Memphis. You get five nice size pieces of fish and the three sides.  Both meals were so filling we both had another meal the next day.  
  
  I feel it is a really good value and would be happy to try them again.  Maybe find some folks for the buffet sometime.

  While the quality of the food is solid, Anointed One work out some kinks on the service end of it operations. It took over 30 minutes from the time I ordered to get my food when there was only one other set of customers in the restaurant.  My red beans and rice came out cold, which was a disappointment, since I felt the dish offered solid flavor. The yams served as a side are the real deal - highly recommended.  The fried chicken was superb, but the small size of the pieces was a disappointment, given the $12.50 price.  My server was apologetic for the long wait and cold side, so she offered me a piece of lemon pound cake and banana pudding, which was greatly appreciated.  Both desserts were excellent.  If the restaurant can speed up the preparation of the food without sacrificing the quality, I will gladly return for a second visit.
